@Deezer Shoove ^ This was my first post of the thread, and every word can be embossed in gold as each is quite factual.Cannonpointer » 30 Jun 2024, 8:45 am » wrote: ↑ False premise. Thread resolved.

But the argument for israel is the argument you DESCRIBED as the argument for palestine.
The palestinians are the ethnicity that was actually LIVING THERE when a bunch of europeans moved in and said, God gave us this **** five thousand years ago.
For you to pretend the reverse is true is absolutely a reframe. It's a work of fiction.
And all of this happened in living memory and IS happening right now. RIGHT NOW israel is making the argument you attributed to palestine. Farms that have been in Palestinian families for many generations are being seized TODAY on racial grounds - period, full stop, rocks are hard, water is wet, you get your own opinions but NOT your own facts. **** Haaretz, Netanyahu, The Jerusalem Times, The UN, the American Ambassador to Israel - EVERYBODY acknowledges that settlers are stealing palestinian land in the occupied territories. NO ONE denies it - it is settled fact. Show me ONE PERSON ON EARTH who denies it.
I cannot speak to your MOTIVE - but the trick you pulled in switching the argument is breathtakingly Copperfieldian in the ambition of its scope. I am aware of NO SCRIPTURAL ARGUMENT the palis have EVER made for that land. They just say, "Mother ****, we live here; who do you think you are stealing our land."
That's it. That's their argument.
If you think you can show some biblical argument THE PALIS have made - give it a go. Because I can sure as **** point to what the jews are saying in five thousand year old texts.
You go first...

You accuse me of attacking. What did I "attack" except ideas that you refused to defend?
You might want to check the dictionary meaning of pretended. I often use words for their denotation more so than for their various connotations.
The real beginning of the jew vs Palestine conflict is the nabka of 1948. That was not so long ago. It certainly is not from Biblical times, which the jews try to appeal to as their land claim. There are still palestinians with deeds in their hands for property takes by Israel purely thanks to an imbalance of power.DeezerShoove » 30 Jun 2024, 8:40 am » wrote: ↑ "the longer away in time something is, the less relevant to the current era."
That is sort of my basic theme. I'm glad you see that aspect as relevant.
The argument has been made multiple times that there are many "ethnic" Russians in Ukraine.
Ukes are trashing them, so Russia gets to beat the Ukes up a bit.
Not only that they get to keep the part of the Ukrainian sovereign land that they want.
All this basically because some farmers speak Russian from what I gather.
Your "Palis vs Jews" comment basically speaks to the notion that Jews are a race first and a religion second.
Thanks for your insight.
I made no case whatever.Cannonpointer » 30 Jun 2024, 3:41 pm » wrote: ↑ You might want to check the dictionary meaning of pretended. I often use words for their denotation more so than for their various connotations.
You made the case I shredded.

Simply observed claims of others and the confused state of both messes.
Seeking valid opinion on the topic seems to have riled your tail feathers some.

It's not like anything I claimed is not falsifiable. You were perfectly free to call ****. You didn't. Instead, you accused me of attacking and made the correction your post required about some supposed "biblical hatred," rather than about respect for facts.
Cannonpointer » 30 Jun 2024, 3:50 pm » wrote: ↑ What I saw was you pretending that the palestinian claims to that land are based on thousands of years old scriptures.
That's factually incorrect.
Their claim is that they hold actual TITLES, and inherited their lands and homes from several generations of their families. It is the Israeli Jews who are making the biblical claim.
That was the correction I generously afforded you - and the rest of this hoopla is proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

the idea that Ukraine is distinct from Russia is, as putin pointed out, largely an artificial construct from lenin...which he perpetuated because at the time it was politically convenient.
but besides.. the conflict in Ukraine is not really between Russia and Ukraine. The 'leader' of ukraine is a jew...not a ukranian. The only real conflict in ukraine is between jewish global power and people who reject it...no different really from jews vs palestinians. The main difference is that Russia has a bigger army than hamas.
) lend to the argument is good for me.
Well divide and conquer is a stratagem older than history, whenever facing a daunting population. The romans used this effectively against the gauls...and my ow ancestors used it against native American tribes.DeezerShoove » 30 Jun 2024, 4:17 pm » wrote: ↑ A quick search on Wiki (the most trusted site in the universe) corroborates a lecture series on Russia that I watched.
This map is supposedly conditions in the 8th century. The Rus were a Nordic people who moved along the river trade routes and planted roots. Kiev is part of the mix. This fits with your comments as well.
Part of the reason I started the thread (much to my partner's chagrin) was because maps like this were bandied about in justification of a Palestinian prior ownership. Jews were to be ousted simply because their entire state of Israel is on a former Palestinian kingdom.
The clarity you and CP (rabid as he is...) lend to the argument is good for me.
Maybe some of it will resonate with others.
ps
I find it interesting that Ukie supporters don't bring up the 8th century origins.
As you said they are the same people but for political boundaries and an 80-year-old narrative.
Damn if this doesn't sound familiar...DeezerShoove » 30 Jun 2024, 3:38 pm » wrote: ↑ You actually think I took a side in this ****?

I just thought I'd raise the tired old **** in a slightly different way.
People were saying the board is stale as last weekend's pizza.
I will do my best to shut up or hate properly in the future.

Essentially you just create and foster some fake kind of nationalism pretending people are very different when in reality they are not.
Anyone who wants to focus on differences should more immediately mention the difference between zelensky, a jew, and the ukranians he claims to rule. In fact, zelensky himself mocked ukranians in his 'cassocks be gay' comedy music video.
indeed the difference between Russians and ukranians is at least as trivial as the difference between Cherokee and creek...especially when both were facing the invasion of the British empire.
I personally am impressed by how easily tricked normal people are by arbitrary focus on trivial differences...but the opposite is also going too far. One should not conclude that because Russians and ukranians are far more similar than they are different that therefore all humans would thrive in the same environment...because the difference between jew and Palestinian is actually significant, unlike Russian versus ukranian.
"The struggle between the people and the hatred amongst them is being nurtured by very specific interested parties. It is a small, rootless, international clique that is turning the people against each other, that does not want them to have peace. It is the people who are at home both nowhere and everywhere, who do not have anywhere a soil on which they have grown up, but who live in Berlin today, in Brussels tomorrow, Paris the day after that, and then again in Prague or Vienna or London, and who feel at home everywhere. They are the only ones who can be addressed as international elements, because they conduct their business everywhere, but the people cannot follow them. The people are bounded to their soil, bounded to its fatherland, bounded to the possibilities of life that the state, the nation, offers."DeezerShoove » 30 Jun 2024, 8:33 pm » wrote: ↑ I find it comforting that when in a situation occurs and different "types" are put together,

That's **** movie script stuff.
It isn't always the case of course, but I've plopped into things in my life wherein all the people involved realize getting together makes more sense than bickering or fighting. That is human nature, I guess.
A poison pill can **** that all up. A so-called leader, for instance, can drive a wedge.
