A new report from the New York Post has revealed that welfare seekers — including non-citizens who are ineligible to vote — are receiving voter registration forms in 49 states, including Maine, when they sign up for taxpayer-funded benefits. “Another ‘conspiracy theory’ turns out to be true,” said Elon Musk on X in response to the information.

Under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, states must provide applicants for welfare benefits with voter registration forms that do not require proof of US citizenship.

I just got off the phone with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services folks up in Augusta. This department administers MaineCare, the only public assistance that illegal immigrants are eligible for in Maine, and they categorically deny that ANY illegal immigrant is given voter registration paperwork when they apply for that program.

I just got off the phone with the Kentucky Department of Health and Human Services folks up in Frankfort.
