I am tired of unelected officials ruining our lives especially when they are politicized to begin with.

What's your point? Justices are almost entirely left to police themselves on ethical issues, with few restrictions on what gifts they can accept. When a potential conflict arises, the sole arbiter of whether a justice should step away from a case is the justice him or herself.
Alito did not see an ethical issue. So, try again.

As I told a friend who has been anxious to see the "administrative state" die, this will be a great idea....until the salmon along Sammy's patron's river start thinning out.

Imagine having to hand 1/5 of your income over to some Federal Agent to ride along.
I think a certain amount of supervision is good in places where the law is difficult to enforce, but that was a ridiculous arrangement.
The Federal Government is loaded with countless "Observer" jobs like this that are perfect hiding places for them to stick their Affirmative Action hires.
