My MIL passed last Summer after a two year battle with progressive frontotemporal aphasia... the same form that Bruce Willis has.

my mom suffered from dementia

then it turned into alzheimer's

A terrible thing for the patient

even worse for loved ones that are no longer recognized

my father started losing it- and doing bad legal things to me. but anyways... so i joined a dementia board for 3 years for help. There were some funny tales there.
But

My FIL had dementia- and he had two wives. The first for over 25 years.  She died.
He remarried to another woman and they stayed together 30 years.  Her name was Jane.
my old man would visit him in the Va hospital.
He did Not even remember his second wife.  At all!!! and she was looking after him. nice lady.
He would wander around family reunions.
have fits of anger- drop his pants and take a pizz on the floor.
he had those blank eyes.

My father-in-law was diagnosed with it.  Fortunately for everyone involved, 8 months later he died of a heart attack.

My mother-in-law is currently under long-term care for it.  We lived with and cared for her until it started adversely impacting our health and she started needing specialized care.  We were able to find a facility that specialized in dementia care.  There have four wings that deal with various levels of the disease.

My dear Mom was 86 Alzheimers took her. She always thought that doing crossword puzzles would prevent her from getting Alzheimers.
It didn't!!!!
Like me she had emphysema. And like me she lost her driving privelege; which put her into a deep depression. Her husband died and no one to take care of her, until my sister and BIL took her in; she slipped and fell on a hard Mexican tile and broke her back.

I doubt I will ever get Al;zheimer's!
Why? Because I am very cerebrally active.
I watch two baseball games at the same time, read the news, and take phone calls as well. And make and eat dinner too.
My caregiver is'nt around that often,so I am forced to fend for myself.

What if dementia is the same thing that happens to a newborn at age two entering the "No" phase at 2 years old or terrible 3's always asking "why do I have to do this, reality?".

Brain getting corrupted by societal rule of law and brain giving up on society's broken promises of truth and justice when nobody is left understanding the simplicity of adapting as displaced since conceived. Come on, genetic outcomes are self evidently alive today with everything globally happening now.

Hell of an idea, right? You been through this. So have I.
