So, calling your political opposition neo-Nazis and 'literally Hitler' (not sure how that works), is deliberately calling to that universal desire to kill Hitler before he can start. We all know calling someone Hitler is a dog-whistle for 'kill this **** before he ravages Europe', 'It's open season on this pig-****, take your best shot' and so on. What the left-wing media has been doing by repeatedly shouting this ridiculous, juvenile invective about Trump and his followers, is not just recklessly irresponsible, it is deliberate reckless endangerment with a salivating hope for violence. Moral side of the political spectrum, my ***.

Some washed up toss-pot comedian (Bill Maher I think), said the left has had the rug of morality pulled out from under it by the Trump assassination attempt. No it hasn't. Like the recent Biden/Trump debate, the left has just experienced another 'Emperor has no clothes' moment - only this time, it applies to all of them. They are the immoral side of the discussion and have been for some time - and this event is showing it to everyone. In the media, in the street, and in everyday discussions with work colleagues, I'm hearing the same laughing comments .. 'shame he didn't get better gun training, then he could've done it properly.' 'Better luck next time.' and 'Why did they stop him?'

Words fail me. Donald Trump has a wife and children.. grandchildren. If that's really how the left feels, that seems to me like a pretty bloody slender rug that was pulled. I'd go as far as saying it's one of their own imagining

And, 'get better gun training'?.. In order to do what exactly?... protect democracy by assassinating their political opposition, I suppose - since putting their political opposition in jail has been an abject failure?

My opinions on things like that differ a little.  I am not one to go back and change history.  Sure, it would be noble to kill hitler before the he was in Charge.  But where would we be as a country today?  Would we even be here?  I believe everything that happened in the past makes us what we are today.  

As example I don't wish to change anything in my own life because one little change from regret could mean I am not where I am not.  And there is no certainty that in a year things will still be good for me.  I have made some awful decision in life.  But if I change those decisions would it affect the decisions I made that were good?

Also if I'm not mistaken, Vance's main narrative from Hillbilly Elegy is "poor whites from W Virginia need more bOoTsTraPz" (I never read the book but that's my assumption since he is a standard conjob)
