Kamala is polling worse than Biden at the moment so even with her leading the ticket, they still stand a good chance of Trump winning... and if they leave her in the VP spot or remove her altogether, then it fractures the base so severely that Trump still has a strong chance of winning due to the lack of interest from the base.
