In a recent televised interview, the underlying message by Dr. Anthony Fauci downplayed the seriousness of Donald Trump's wound received during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally. Speaking with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Fauci described Trump's bullet wound on his right ear as being “simply skin deep”.The incident occurred last weekend at a Pennsylvania rally where the Republican presidential nominee was targeted but escaped with minimal harm. Starting the conversation, Blitzer asked about specific details the public needs to know about Trump's state.Dr. Fauci, who earlier oversaw The White House Coronavirus Task Force under Trump, said that little more could be added. According to him, the bullet just nicked Trump's ear without doing severe damage.
"Based on the examining physician's report he thinks Trump is in the clear health-wise due to the way Donald has been galivanting around since the attack," explained Dr Fauci.
"It seems to have been a superficial wound to the ear, and that’s all."
This incident highlights Dr. Anthony Fauci had been at loggerheads with President Donald J. Trump before. Still, in this particular case, they had different opinions regarding Mr. Trump's health status immediately after an assassination attempt on him by unknown people. One hit Mr. Trump's ear slightly without causing any damage. Dr. Fauci played a key role in America's response against COVID-19 during President Donald J. Trump's first term. However, the latter stages of their collaboration coincided with difficulties, which started when Faucci openly corrected Trump's untruthful statements regarding COVID-19.
In particular, this friction culminated in discord between them as Trump called him an idiot over those weeks, leading to his failed re-election campaign. However, now again, as he runs for the presidency, former advisers like Fauci seem to be at odds with him, and this has become a media circus.Fauci's recent comments, however, suggest he is assessing Trump's health as an expert without any political underpinnings as opposed to his previous statements, which such attitudes have influenced.
