Considering Israel to be a big expensive aircraft carrier taking the heat for the US was a common view. I thought that myself at one time. There wasn't a single event but over time I became uninterested in that over-rated country's survival at our expense.
Trying to ascertain any good (on balance) our investment in blood and treasure has brought escapes me.
