There is a HUGE difference between neighborly Personal charity practiced mostly by conservatives.

and government forced redistribution.

Socialism always leads to tyranny of the few.

I would agree that socialism is more of a state of mind rather than some specific range of economic policies. But "being neighborly' is a very poor description.

Instead, i would define it as a sense that 'we are all in this together'...that a people share a general basic destiny and we all have to sacrifice to ensure our future where we survive and also perhaps flourish.

that attitude contrasts with mere individualism and selfish pursuit of happiness and profit, which cannot maintain civilization and will certainly destroy any nation which adopts such an attitude.

However,, it is of course important that the people making sacrifices for the good of the society do in fact share a common destiny.. it is pointless and stupid,, for example, for germans to dedicate labor for jews when jews have no concern for the future of germans. Old school communists missed that important aspect and were simply wrong in their assumption that all workers are in fact on the same 'team'. They are not. Nations are divided in their identity and their instinct...especially across race.

In a 21-second clip posted Sunday to the social media platform X, a group of young Communists marched through the streets of Philadelphia calling for “class war.”
The Communists, some of whom appeared well fed, chanted the banal slogans of the cosplaying revolutionary.“Class war, 2024! Fight the rich, feed the poor!” they chanted like sheep on an Animal Farm.To crown the absurdity, they carried red flags bearing the hammer and sickle symbol associated with the old Soviet Union.
Communists, of course, have always posed as friends of the poor. In fact, that posture alone has given them their deceptive appeal.

We all know how the people have always faired under communism, don't we?
