When citizens united was a hot topic, this is the argument that made conjobs panty dance. 

I was very much against CU, and extremely pleased by Hobby Lobby.

Sounds about right except for this small detail:

I don't see that as missing in my argument. I certainly do not disagree with it.

Have you never heard of research and development?
A business owner will invest in his own company, and often even borrow money to help create a new product line that they believe will return larger profits than the amount they invested.  We DO NOT wait for higher sales to generate the capital required to hire new employees; if we did, no one would ever be able to start up a new company!  When his venture is successful, THEN he has the profits to do as he pleases with those funds after paying back that loan if it was needed.  Of course he can choose to hire more employees at that point, but he also has the option to diversify into other fields with that money, use it to increase his inventory for faster processing, or even spend it to upgrade his production process with equipment THAT MAY VERY WELL LEAD TO LAYING OFF WORKERS!

Are you blind to what McDonald's did with their profits when they were forced to pay virtual imbecilic employees the ridiculous $20 an hour wage?  Most DID NOT hire more employees, and chose to either open another store OR buy and install the kiosks that take your order that require FEWER employees!  In one of my businesses, I spent several hundred thousand dollars on new machinery that did the work of 4 employees faster and with fewer flaws than the workers committed.  And the new equipment never once called out sick, demanded vacation and holiday pay, required me to carry workman's comp, quit with no notice, or demanded a raise!

And yeah, if inflation forces a company to continue raising his prices because HIS costs have increased, OF COURSE a businessman like Trump will agree that not only it is ok, but it's NECESSARY to keep raising prices, fool!

So stop trying to convince anyone that you know what the **** you're talking about!

So if your belief that Corporations "have no rights" were indeed true, then the ability to bring any legal actions against one is NOT POSSIBLE since in order to assure JUSTICE, rights must be either RECOGNIZED or extended.

And since no government anything has any legal basis to "extend rights" in this nation to ANY corporation, and as you state that rights are derived FROM GOD, then you got some mighty fine PANTY DANCIN' you gonna be doin' to explain where Corporations in a legal matter get their RIGHTS!!

Sounds like everyday operations as it's been done for decades. These employees are free to give the boss a pink slip and fire his *** and find a better job that suits them.

You won't hear me complaining about stocks melting up, sounds like those running these corporations are doing their job for their investors.

I was looking at it as more of a business model...closed Sundays for family/ worship time, etc...

How often does that happen?  You may end up disappointed if it doesn't happen.


For the rest of us, the American Dream is a little less extravagant. Mortgage free home (preferably in a state with lower property tax), hopefully a $100k plus retirement income without dipping into retirement accounts ( SS, maybe a pension, other passive income). Kids that are self sufficient and not running to the bank of Mom and Dad. Debt free for the most part. Maybe a little traveling, exotic places or the RV thing.

Sounds boring huh,,,,,,
