I bet most people have seen this classic sci Fi movie but I wonder if people know its origin?

The movie was based (loosely) on a short story by Harry Bates called, "Farewell to the Master". As usual Hollywood deviated greatly from the story. You can find a free pdf version of it still and you may enjoy how different it is.

I tried to come up with something decent but that just seemed wrong.. I found some informative *** trivia though, did you know it dates back to the 16th century and it was originally meant to refer to a bundle of small sticks.. search it up.. it is not known exactly when it became reference to the OP but it makes for some fun memes..
