Voldowort Zeprusky is having to point guns at people to get them into his army, and half of them desert.

People are bum-rushing recruitment offices in Russia to fight what they perceive (rightly) a patriotic war of self defense.

It just keeps getting hilariouser.

The Russian action is definitely patriotic, in that people are desirous to serve, Their nation is being existentially threated by NATO in a manner that is ongoing, notorious, continuous, hostile, and adverse to that nation's interests and its people's wellbeing. They've had their pipeline blown up to interfere with necessary commerce, and their peaceful and productive relationships with the republics surrounding them (Monroesky Doctrine) have been interrupted by multiple sleazy manipulations from the NATO nations. 

In the case of Ukraine, they are dealing with a MANIFEST proxy government whose democracy was subverted by a coup which was plotted, planned, and funded by Washington DC. This is not an argument or an opinion. It is a documented fact. It has been exposed on video and admitted to by high ranking officials of the United States government who were caught on tape deciding which Ukrainians would serve in government and which would be told to sit it out. In the absence of Russia's special military operation (war against Ukraine's coup government), Russia would have midrange missile batteries ringing its territory, and any negotiations it might enter into would be sabotaged by this immediate existential threat from the only nation on earth that has ever used atomic weapons on another - a rogue nation which routinely violates the international rules based order and which has been at war with SOMEONE for at least the past 80 years. 

That qualifies as self-defense. 

I think I got it right. The idea that my usage was not spot on is inconceivable.

I think I got it right. The idea that my usage was not spot on is inconceivable.

I know it's a board where we poke at stuff a lot. It just hit me this morning about all the reasons people get to carry physical and mental scars for life.

I had an old friend that was in the Korean police action. He was frozen pretty badly in that ****.
He told me about the **** up buddies he had that died there and subsequently afterward due to conditions, injuries.
Hie fingers and toes were slowly rotting off due to the frostbite **** up his circulatory system.
Eventually lost a leg. More fingers. The other leg. Finally died.

He was pissed about the uselessness of it all. Might've been better off if "the cause" was clearer.
When you're lying in bed, yet again, waiting to heal up enough to go home, it's you and your thoughts.
He was a pretty good guy if you could see past his trauma.

Don't know why I thought of him.

Certainly war is pretty useless to the people fighting it. But there ARE (rarely) just wars. Russia has been involved in a number of them. 

Typically, the people fighting from death ground - in this case, that would be the Ukrainians, on cursory inspection - are fighting a just war, and the invaders are practicing rapine. But in the case of the Special Operations in Ukraine, it is actually the RUSSIANS who are fighting from death ground to repel an invasion by hostile forces. The Ukrainian people's democracy was overthrown by the lead aggressor in NATO, and their formerly peaceful homeland was turned into a proxy state to attack Russia's interests and sovereignty and physical security. 

Their actions are noble and glorious; the west's endless failures are hilarious. <This is opinion. ^That is fact.

And just to remind you, Putin spent MONTHS piled up on Ukraine's border, trying extremely hard to bring Ukraine back to the table, NOTWITHSTANDING they had shown themselves utterly untrustworthy in the matter of their word regarding the Minsk Accords. The Russian mobilization was intended to push Ukraine to diplomacy. But Ukraine is a captured state whose captors view it as a bic lighter: to be used up and discarded. It is serving the end to which it was put - but it is NOT having the intended effect. Russia has not been diminished, as was intended. But boy oh boy, Germany sure has. So has the U.S., at least in terms of credibility. The conflict has set a fire under the BRICS compact. They can't get to their door to do business for all the nations lined up and begging to dedollarize. 
 
 

I wish the boss (U.S. intelligence services) would order Soilinsky to invade just one more piece of Russia.

I've always wanted to see Russia with a million man (not tranny) volunteer military.

Agreed. The gigantic force sitting on their border should have been a fairly decent signal that going to the table in earnest was the better course of action.

Example: Everybody hadda buy dollars in order to buy oil. For fiddy years. That just ended. 

We're still the world reserve currency- for now. But you don't have to buy oil in the world reserve currency anymore.

And those nations trading commodities? They're starting to keep their Real, Yuan, Rubles and what have you in each OTHER'S currencies rather than the reserve currency - on account of that prevents the owner of said reserve currency from stealing their Real, Yuan, Rubles and what have you. The quitter people are of using a reserve currency, the cooler it isn't to be the reserve currency.

The peak isn't a forever plateau.
