 Thousands of Hezbollah terrorists were injured in southern Lebanon on Tuesday when their new pagers all simultaneously exploded — causing horrifying burns to their groins and hands as the devices detonated on their belts and in their pockets. 

Lebanese officials said 2,800 people were injured and eight killed in what Hezbollah officials claimed was a hacking attack by Israel.

According to the articles I read it is alleged Israel was able to hack thousands of new pagers and possibly cell phones and be able to force a virus or whatever to cause the batteries to overheat.

they would need the pager ID #'s....seems far fetched....

Sure....but if they were all new pagers from the same batch and they had an inside source they could do it.

They were probably all on the same dedicated network so they could communicate with each other and not be hacked.
Probably is, any time there is a group of devices, if the security to that group is breeched, they are ALL exposed. 

The thing I found interesting was that the Iranian Ambassador had one of these terrorist pagers.

I hate to think of the innocent people that purchased one of these time bombs
