Americans should have to take some kind of test before they are allowed to vote.

I have said the following stat before, but for some reason nobody gives a **** about its implications. The average reading level of an average American is 7th grade. At that level, 7th grade readers can only comprehend simple instructions. They are not capable of understanding more complicated concepts nor can they comprehend technical information.

That being the case, it is irresponsible, and down right dangerous, to allow  a mass of idiots to vote for future leaders that are in control of that 'red button' in the white house.  We are considered a superpower. We live in an age of nuclear weapons. We no longer live in the era where moonshine bootlegging was our biggest problem. There is a reason why we don't allow kids to vote or make adult decisions. Likewise, we need to ensure that people who can think past a 7th grade level are the ones who elect our leaders.

Of course, the progressives will think that this only applies to MAGAs and not them. Thereby, proving my  OP about the stupidity of both sides.

I would carry it one step forward, if you don't pay property taxes, file a tax return, and can't pass a simple 10 question test on the Constitution.......you aren't qualified to vote.
