Couple of interesting items I came across:
The Jews created the "General Sick Fund" in 1912 under the Workers Party (German Jews I believe). Must be in their DNA or God Thingy to look after their own.
The current healthcare system in Israel has been rolling since 1995.  Sounds like it has been difficult to provide services on a tight budget. They currently spend roughly 8% of GDP on healthcare, the US is over 17%.

Israel has a Gini coefficient of .38, the US is .47 .
Israel only has 2.7% of the adult population that have a net worth of $1 million (high taxes tend to do that), the US is 8%.

I suppose somebody has to be the scape goat and the Jews seem to be a hot topic lately.
Does anyone ever think about the other $59 billion in transfers to all the other countries around the world?  I would venture to say the death toll is much greater in those countries than what is going on in Israel.

Sure,  and I bet this same person cashed those Covid stimulus checks but this is different because someone else is getting the benefit. It works out to about $425 per person per year for Israeli population. Suppose they could pony up and come up with the extra $4 billion a year but they still have to have a place to purchase the military hardware.

Interesting conversation. I have nothing for or against the Jews. It appears quite a few people feel they are being manipulated by .2% of the world's population. It's very entertaining!

You cannot draw this conclusion because welfare and poverty is a complex subject. There’s a reason multivariate regression analysis exists in statistics and natural sciences.

The goal of “welfare” - at least in the US - is to keep those who are poor from sliding into extreme poverty, not to lift people out of poverty. When viewed this way, “welfare” is actually a resounding success.

(The other goal is to recycle the currency into the hands of the poor - also a success)

Aside from disability benefits, there are few if ANY welfare payments that cover actual expenses (e.g. food stamps are around $300 / month but grocery bills are easily $350-450 / month per person if you eat healthier foods and not ramen noodles and milk/cereal/Campbell’s soup 2x a day)
 
Maybe @Cannonpointer  can chime in since he has more experience dealing with poor people, I just know by doing the MATH that “welfare” is certainly not designed to lift anyone out of poverty - so the assumption is invalid
