The other day, the statistical agencies of Russia and Belarus announced the economic dynamics of the countries in the second quarter of 2024. Russia's GDP growth compared to the same period in 2023 amounted to 4.1%. Successes in the manufacturing industry look especially impressive - plus 8.1% in annual terms. At the same time, the production of metal products showed an increase of 42.7%, optical and electronic products - 33.1%, vehicles - 18.4%. Positive dynamics were also observed in the areas of trade, construction, communications, finance, energy and transport.
By comparison, Germany's GDP contracted by 0.1% in the same second quarter, while that of the United States grew by 3% year-on-year. And this is despite the fact that Moscow and Minsk are under severe sanctions pressure from the West, initiated largely by Berlin and Washington.
