You're supposed to PAY THE **** UNION for getting you that deal? WTF...!!!
Does anyone believe for a minute longshoremen's wages would be lower without a contract? I mean, wtf is the union for - why pay **** dues?
Let's say that's their money. 100k or more. At 17 bucks an hour, to make 100k would require your 2000 hours of work at 17, bringing you to 34k. Then you would need to work 2,588 hours at 25.5 to make the additional 66k.ConsRule » 18 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Either ABC (on GMA3) or Zip Recruiter doesn't have a **** clue. Take it up with CBS and ABC (ABC reported the same info on air less than an hour ago).Cannonpointer » 13 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Let's say that's their money. 100k or more. If the above is accurate, then either they lied to you about those guys' gross wages, or those guys are averaging 4,588 hour work years and headed to an early grave.
Let's say they are earning 20 per. That's 40k in skr8t time, and 60k at OT - 30bucks an hour. You're STILL looking at a 4,000 hour year.

That top-tier hourly wage of $39 amounts to just over $81,000 annually, but dockworkers can make significantly more by taking on extra shifts. For example, according to a 2019-20 annual report from the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor, about one-third of local longshoremen made $200,000 or more a year.

I HAD AN UNCLE WHO WORKED AS A LONGSHOREMAN IN THE 1950'S AT THE BROOKLYN N.Y WATERFRONT. BACK THEN HE EARNED A GOOD LIVING

TEACHERS UNION IN NY IS GREAT. ELECTRICIANS UNION LOCAL 3 GREAT IF YOU WORK YEAR ROUND. STEAM/PIPEFITTERS UNION GREAT.
SOME UNIONS ROB WORKERS AND PROVIDE POOR REPRESENTATION.

39 would come to 78k. not 81. That certainly sounds more realistic to me, for a union wage. I cannot imagine ANY trade union making 17 or 20 per hour.ConsRule » Today, 1:13 pm » wrote: ↑ Take it up with CBS and ABC (ABC reported the same info on air less than an hour ago).
