Well, are the 2.617 million at least filled with joy? not to fret as kamalatoe will create her "opportunity economy" along with 3,000,000 new homes and 25k for every buyer...BooRadley » 38 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ https://www.bostonherald.com/2024/10/09 ... achusetts/
How great is Bidenomics working out for the people of Massachusetts? Our citizens are doing so well economically here that the number of active EBT cards – food stamps – has increased from 1,944,399 in July 2023 to 2,616,882 on Sept. 1 of this year.Nothing says the economy is great like a 34.6% increase in the number of food-stamp recipients in Massachusetts – in a mere 14 months.Isn’t this wonderful news? Happy days are here again. Just ask Kamala Harris.Way back in 1932, then-presidential candidate Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “I see one third of a nation ill-clothed, ill-housed and ill-fed.”Now, almost a century later, of a Massachusetts population of 6.982 million, 2.617 million are on food stamps.
It's actually quite easy to blame...just watch...3...2...1...BooRadley » 37 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I’m not expecting any real answers from the administration of Gov. Maura Healey. If Trump were president, you know what the answer would be. But it’s hard to blame Trump for this explosion in poverty after what the Democrats have been telling us has been a golden age of peace and prosperity over the last four years.
These are the Healey administration’s own numbers, by the way. This is not the “misinformation” the Democrats are always talking about, blaming MAGA. As with the FEMA numbers on resettling “migrants” instead of providing disaster relief, these EBT numbers come from the Democrats themselves.

Or you can believe some chart that Black Veggie found.
A staggering 672,483 new EBT cards have been added to the welfare rolls in a little over a year — a tally that’s intensifying calls for an audit of the welfare agency. The startling 34.6% jump is being reported from July of 2023 to last month by the state Department of Transitional Assistance. The DTA said late Tuesday that 218,000 of the new EBT cards are from the federally funded Summer Child Nutrition Program. The Herald has sought more details about the thousands of other cards sent out as the state faces budget constraints.Blackvegetable » 35 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Here is the data from the feds..

The number of active EBT cards doesn't necessarily reflect the number of people receiving benefits, or whether the card has money on it.BooRadley » 2 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ As of January 2024, 1,064,016 people in Massachusetts were receiving SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, which are distributed through EBT cards:

The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) provides SNAP benefits to Massachusetts residents, along with cash assistance and workforce training.
