I'm not lying.  ou commanded a boat.  Was t a battleship? No.  You were a pencil pusher.

Now, I was not special ops.  I did fly Special Forces, Navy Seals and 160th Spec Ops Troops.I was assigned to many combat infantry divisions and brigades.  I say these things because while I will not describe myself as a bad *** I worked and was on missions with REAL BADASSES,  You?  Not so much.  I was just a simple crew dog, a flight crew member.

I had a shore command.  I had six sea tours on three combatants, two replenishment ships and a nuclear powered aircraft carrier.  I am a ship driver, a surface warfare officer and a propulsion engineer and I served two years in Lebanon as a crisis mediator with the United Nations.  I never pushed a pencil. I don't want anyone to bow down to me.  I just take umbrage when people denigrate me.

One thing for certain, had you become a concrete finisher, the road would have been harder and you'd be more of a man than you present here.

concrete finisher?.... naval officer?.... wow.  I don't ever remember having that career path dilemma.  And I really am nonplussed by your evaluation of my manhood.  You are less important than the bug crawling across my front porch this afternoon.  I KNOW what kind of a man I am, and so do my children, my spouse, my friends, my shipmates, and my classmates.  Their opinions matter.  Yours doesn't.

I was.  A career warrior.  Serving my country in harm's way was my raison d'être for a quarter of a century.  And then I stood down and let the next generation pick up the guidon.... and you laid some nice driveways?  Bless your heart.
