I’m profiting off the madness, so I suppose I am having fun.

The amount of money you can make with a proper short position is insane. 

A call option on UVXY (VIX futures contract) I bought at $65 back in the July-August correction went to $2500 in about a week. Sadly I was too inexperienced to hold it and sold for a minor loss.

I won’t make that mistake again.

You can SAY that, but in my experience, each episode has its own variables that throws a wrench into the works.
I had a couple of teachable moments where I learned I'm terrible at picking stocks and choosing the timing.
One cost me dearly right when I didn't need it to happen. ****! (I murmured quietly to myself...  

That lesson was so bad I threw the rest of the piddly amount into the mix. Lightening struck and I made my money back with a reckless move, a massive stock price spike, and I cashed out. The company was bankrupt, gone, nyet about 10 days later.
God...should He exist...gave me a break I won't forget.
