Contrary to popular belief Mayor Pete was not the first openly gay man to be nominated for a cabinet position. It was Richard Grennell.

Did Trump utilize a little bit of "DEI" to make these choices as a compromise...? Did he leave better qualified..or JUST AS QUALIFIED White Christian Males behind...?
I don't know the answers to that..I just want to bring this up as a possibility as to how and why these picks were arrived at..
I think Trump used this opportunity as a recruiting strategy to at least get more women and Queers onboard.
