I would support them piping that water over. It would be a massive undertaking but another thing that could be done is to actually properly align the water rights on the Colorado and such. First, you would need to know who gets what. And then objectively show how much they actually need. My guess that quite a few are receiving more than they need. also, could make this adjustable/dynamic. High water year = greater water allotment and so on. A lot of the watersheds in CA are over-allotted. The existing water rights exceed the actual acre feet of water.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I am for cutting government. All government. Including the military budget. There is a ton of waste in the military budget. While I am for a strong military and I have no problem with our military occasionally protecting our economic interests in other countries, I am not for a bloated, out of control military we have today.
Something you said in the past lead me to call you a Communist. I didn't mean it as an insult, just that you had some very socialist views about being entitled to have government pay for your way in the world. Am I wrong? I could be - honestly don't recall.

But, it only does so because the U.S. (and other mineral-rich countries) is too scared to tariff China and produce their own minerals. The vast deserts of the Western US. I am the rare type that is not out of sorts in the middle of it. I find there to be a strange beauty to the vastness and emptiness. To ride a bike on flat ground for 60 miles is not all that monumental. To ride the same distance in the wasteland of NE California.. takes a new level of dedication. That being said, I know intimately how much land there is and how empty it is. If they find these Rare Earth Minerals in this desert and can prove that they will not impact the groundwater supply of the neighboring towns.. go for it.
