The best way to buy ammo is online. You can shop the whole USA for the best deals and delivered right to your door. Unless you live in a commie state.

You can pick up some pretty good deals on ammo at gun shows - not always, but now all of the ammo hoarders are trying to get rid of overstock.  Online is easiest and also very competitive for 9mm and 5.56.

Also, I will buy ammo at my local gun store every now and then just to support them.  Most of the time I overpay at LGS, but I like having them around.

I do the same concerning the local store.

I've got so much ammo I haven't bought any in years.

Local stores really don't charge that much more for copper jacketed ball ammo. They just getcha on the 20-rnd boxes of defensive ammo.

THey certainly do.  I can shop using the PX so I order it online.

I just invite them over for Thanksgiving and then make them shoot guns before they can eat.  They can either participate, or sit on the porch with their fingers in their ears while the rest of us have fun.

A friend of mine was working on a rental after the renter left. way back in a closet there was a box with 30 50rd cases of 124gr. Blazer Brass. The owner told him it was his. He needed $$$ more than bullets so he kept 10 and sold me 20 boxes for $200. Win win for both!

.556 is literally half the price per round online opposed to buying them in the store . Cheapest I have ever paid for 556 was 30 cents a round at a gun show.

That's a little better than you can do at a store or online.  Blazer brass-cased ammo is usable.  Their aluminum ammo sucks though  - if they even still manufacture it.

  As far as I know they still do.
Bought some 10mm. 2 years ago. Still have some.

Magtech is great target ammo for being close to full power 10mm. 
 It ain't Underwood though.
 As for ammo vending machines I guess it would be fine for the casual shooter that goes to the range once a month or less. But if you're serious you buy bulk. Or reload.

Are you saying that you've shot aluminum cased Blazer 10mm and it was close to full power?  I tried to shoot a box of 44 magnum Blazer aluminum-case out of a Desert Eagle, which will typically cycle most 44 magnum loads, and the entire box was light-loaded.  Now, it is possible the aluminum cases didn't expand well enough and allowed too much gas to escape from the chamber.  The DE is a gas operated gun - not typical browning-lock mechanism.  But, I didn't notice a lot of fouling on the bolt (it has a separate bolt) which lead me to believe that the ammo was simply light-loaded.  Never bought any more of the stuff.
