You see, that's where you are wrong!! They do "care" that more and more illegals come into the country since it gives them MORE BODIES to count in the Census.
And that in turn, gives them more ways to gerrymander Congressional and Statehouse districts to retain their power. It's not so much about making them voters but having bodies to count in a census so they can manipulate district lines to suit their desire for more Fascist control over your life. If they overload a district with people, they can then split the numbers around to make ANOTHER Democrat heavy District and have another Dem body in government.

In addition to caring for migrants at CBP stations, the federal government is providing hundreds of millions of dollars in funding to NGOs and communities who are receiving migrants. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), it is providing $640.9 million in FY 2024 via its Shelter and Services Program to allow "non-federal entities," including city governments and NGOs, to off-set costs incurred by the migrant arrivals they are seeing. Recently, DHS expanded the cap for both hotels and airfare to 10 percent of the total funding requested, and allowed NGOs to apply for a waiver of that cap due to an operational need.
"SSP grants have provided critical support to communities receiving migrants and the need for this support is ongoing," DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement in September.
