In 2023, a commission tasked with drafting a constitution for an independent Greenland presented its proposal.[35] In February 2024, the island officially declared that independence is the goal for Greenland

Greenland has been an autonomous territory of Danmark, with every right to choose sovereignty, since May of 1979. That means a baby born today has a DADDY that could have voted for sovereignty, and a GRAND DADDY that could have voted for sovereignty. They didn't want it, because Danmark has been contributing ten thousand dollars PER CITIZEN in various social programs on the island.
They are a dependency. Dependency and sovereignty - and you can google this; I'm not making it up - are at odds.
But all of this begs the question. The REAL issue that you raised - forget all this irrelevant and misleading/obfuscating wiki stupidity - is whether I respect the sovereignty of 50,000 ice *** over a territory thrice that of Texas.

How many FEWER ice *** would there need to be - how many fewer than the current 50,000 - would there need to be in order for YOU to no longer support the fatuous notion of "sovereignty" for this dependent territory of Danmark? Like, if there was just ONE FAMILY of ice *** - comprised of say 10 people - would you STILL embrace the silly notion of their sovereignty over a vast island that they do not actually inhabit except in one tiny area, the coast line of which they have never charted or even circumscribed, and are only aware of because their Danish overlords mapped it?
