The calculation was the sanctions would crush Russia's economy, leading to Putin's ouster, and we would get a fellow like Yeltsin at the helm.

I've not read Wolff. Perhaps you would be willing to explain what part of that video is propaganda. He seems to be dealing in facts, from where I am sitting. Facts are not propaganda. They're just facts. 

And it wasn't Reagan. He was out of office when the soviet union got its Jesus-ticket punched.

The Minsk Accords were the vehicle for that rapprochement between Ukraine and its rebellious provinces. 

The murdering of civilians continued apace. 

When Ukraine defaulted on the treaty that settled the borders, it waived the settlement of the borders. In 2022, Angela Merkel admitted publicly that the west made the minsk agreement in bad faith, to give the west time to create a Ukrainian military machine. 

I cannot find tape of her saying the precise words, but here those words are immortalized and explicated:

Well, I can give you some better news this time. Putin shut down all the jwo NGOs - forced those he did not outright disallow to register as foreign agents, which put them into a highly regulated and scrutinized class of organizations with no rights - only privileges - and lots of obligations.
