If ya ever on I-35 or I-94 its Really Cold watch your back too.

People drive crazy & litterally "Convoys" of Slow Big Truck.

we'll, I know Anoka county went with granite refines vs salt...worked great... I have beet juice in my tractor tires for weight as it has a very low freeze point...

Not cheap compared to salt.
Sure it's biodegradable and not corrosive... but who wants that?

Well, neither is, but the crap they spray on the roads here is very corrosive as the local repair guy will attest to...   and in the spring my garage floor is covered in a white fuzzy substance....

I get my vehicles sprayed with oil because it wicks deep into the weld and hem flanges.
NHOU is my brand of choice these days.
Michigan is a pretty salty place for being the freshwater mecca.   

Corrosion never stops here. Dust is managed on gravel roads with calcium chloride.
Just as bad as winter salt...
 

I simply would say that he is a bit of a drama queen. 4 years ago, i lost out on a promotion.... shrug the shoulders and move on to the next battle. Sometimes, you lose especially in politics where you do not have much control over the outcome.

I love the gravel road treatment...part of the mail route I drove had a lot of those which the county treated...you can imagine how "air tight" the LLVs are...
