Going to a cell phone-based-voting-system eliminates the need for voting machines pretty much nobody trusts anymore. It eliminates their cost and their nonsense about proprietary IP. (intellectual property)

 How about same day voting?

 There is absolutely zero need for 2 weeks, or 30 days of voting so everyone has a chance to vote. Anyone can tap that phone on Election Day between midnight Monday and midnight Tuesday and cast a vote.

 How about the counting - for days after the election - you know - like in Nevada when the Lefties have enough days to count enough votes so Sam Brown is now at the VA, not in the Senate! That 2 weeks!

 Again, the votes are counted in less than 5 minutes - in every state.

 If a TV show can count the votes for a singer across the entire U.S. in minutes, how hard is it to tabulate Nevada?

 OK, but what about the guy with 15 cell phones. He votes 15 times.

 Everyone has one and only one voter ID, unless of course, you are in Georgia (the one with Atlanta in it). That voter ID can only vote one time per person. You may have 5 Georgia voter IDs, but they are ALL tied to you - so you vote once - if you try to vote twice, the system picks it up instantly.

Yes, every voter should also have a unique SSN  that can be used as a way to validate the voter's phone number.

Our  electronic funds transfer system has proven to be pretty much Hacker Proof and accurate hasn't it...?

It's a good idea. The only drawback is that there is a good percentage of voters who don't have phones. It's hard to believe in today's society, but it's true. Most 18 to 49 year olds have them, so that isn't a problem. However, the elderly have about 25% that don't. A lot of elderly vote Republican. Just saying.

I don't know what the hell happened to the stat between 50 and 65.

I thought of that too vs having multiple phones...approximately 10%...maybe they make up the percentile that don't vote?

Renters aren't on the Property tax database.

And you can bet the KNEEGROWS will be whining that this is "racially motivated voter suppression" that NOT ALL OF THEIR KIND own cell phones and that isn't going to be "fair" or equitable.

Add to it, there are TONS of other issues here where there is literally ZERO controls of the vote, the count or any other aspects of voting that matters. I can have 20 phones and 20 assumed ID's and there is ZERO way to determine if that is real of fraudulent. Same as burner phones right now- you can't trace them for the most part.

There is still no way to trace a burner phone's owner and no way to determine if a number is a burner phone with the technology we have today. And there isn't likely any change to happen in the near future since it takes a lot more than we have now to "assign" some different set of numbers to burner phones to identify them as such. Sorry. 

This is a HORRIBLE idea and one ripe for fraud and abuse. What's to prevent a bunch of foreign adversaries from getting phones by the millions and having valid addresses, etc and voting in our elections?? NO ONE thought about that one. And trust me, it WOULD be happening if this was implemented.

IN PERSON, WITH VALID PHOTO ID AND ONLY THOSE WHO CAN PRODUCE IT that are on the voter rolls get to vote. PERIOD!!

Voter fraud is a personal activity, defrauding the electorate takes technology by those sponsoring the elections to govern ancestries managing their time alive, daily.
