They never got any closer than about 200 miles....lost BILLIONS$$$ in US gear/weapons and 50,000 men in 4 months.

YOU are foolish... Trump KNOWS Putin is STRAPPED... Russia's economy is in bad shape, the military arsenal down by HALF since war began, close to a million dead, the pretense of Russian "power" is shattered, AND, the "3 day war" RAGES ON into YEAR 3 !!

Trump is NOT desperate to stop the war, but Russia should be... HE's trying to help Russia OUT, but, I don't think it's going to be what Putin hopes... YOU SIMPLY CAN'T say with a straight face that Russia has won this war... ONE way or another, Ukraine is GOING to be part of NATO (even though Trump is trying to down play it right now)... and the only question is HOW, WHEN, and how much territory Ukraine will have to give up... In the end, I predict a NEW Iron curtain will fall across the Baltics, Poland, and Ukraine... with Ukraine quickly recovering, and moving into the NATO alliance... but with Russia in a slow stall, until the its final CRASH !!
