Social Security officially began in 1935 after The Great Depression when a 1934 estimate found that nearly half of the elderly in America lacked sufficient income to be self-supporting. Politicians have bloviated that the pension program was depleted in modern discussions of the SSA and its welfare programs. They blamed it on several underlying issues, including a massive Baby Boomer generation set to retire and pull from the fund.

 However, thanks to DOGE head Elon Musk, we know that the real reason the pension program is suffering is likely due to a massive amount of fraud. In an X post, Musk showed a screenshot of the number of people pulling Social Security and their age ranges (0-369 years old).

Some of these payments are being made to people who are obviously dead or, at the very least, hold the record for the longest modern lifespan. The screenshot shows that around 16 million Social Security payments are being made to people between the ages of 110 and 369. This does not include the almost 5 million people between 100 and 109 years old who are receiving monthly Social Security checks. The average life expectancy in the U.S. is about 78 years old.“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real, and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” Musk said. 

The federal government has known for years that illegal immigrants are committing fraud by stealing American Social Security numbers (SSNs) to gain employment and other benefits (like Social Security payments). The Centers for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report claiming that 75% of illegal immigrants in the U.S. are using fraudulent SSNs. “According to the Social Security Chief Actuary, the ACLU, and illegal immigrant advocates, roughly 75 percent of illegal aliens have fraudulently obtained SSNs that they use for employment and other purposes. All too often these SSNs belong to American citizens, ranging in age from 0 to over 100. However, rather than putting Americans first, the SSA protects illegal aliens by covering up their use of stolen SSNs,” CIS stated.

 Musk’s investigation into the SSA revealed that about 90 million more people receive Social Security payments than there are Americans eligible for the program.

In total, about 398 million people are receiving Social Security payments every month in the U.S., which seems odd considering the recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates that only 340 million people are living in the U.S. Musk claims the number of Americans who are eligible to receive Social Security in the U.S. is actually around 310 million.

 This would mean that not only is every American receiving a check, which is easily debunked, but about 60 million people not counted by the recent census are also getting Social Security.

Social media commenters came up with one possible explanation for the 150-year age, and experts who have worked closely with the Social Security Administration told PolitiFact it was plausible.

Under an international standard called ISO 8601, a missing value for a date is coded as May 20, 1875, because that was the date of an international standards-setting conference held in Paris, known as the “Convention du Mètre.”

For that reason, under some coding systems, a missing value for a date will default to 1875 — which in the year 2025 produces a round figure of 150.

“Some people, particularly some immigrants, really don’t know their exact birthday, so there would have to be some alternative means of verification,” said C. Eugene Steuerle, a fellow at the Urban Institute, a think tank, and a former deputy assistant secretary of the Treasury Department during the Reagan administration.

Another possibility is that a beneficiary’s record in the system may have multiple fields for birth dates, one of which is missing data because it’s not needed for calculations.

“Some records may have missing codes, while others may have conflicting information on age or date of birth, so the staff would have created queries to determine which fields are actually used,” J. Michael Collins, a University of Wisconsin professor of public affairs, said.

That doesn't account for the 398 MILLION SS payments going out every month!!

And the "excuses" keep piling up and NONE of them attempt to address the 396 MILLION above!!

WHY make **** excuses for a SS system that is RAMPANT with fraud and waste?? FIND THE CROOKS, PUT THEIR ASSES IN PRISON, and stop sending money out the door to DEAD PEOPLE and ILLEGAL ALIENS!!
