Discovery of a Massive Methane Leak Escaping into the Atmosphere—A newly discovered source of methane emissions is adding to growing concerns about climate change, as scientists reveal that melting glaciers are leaking large amounts of this potent greenhouse gas. While methane is already known to be a major driver of global warming, the revelation that glacial meltwater is flushing out geologic methane introduces a previously unaccounted-for source of emissions. This discovery suggests that as glaciers continue to retreat, methane releases could intensify, contributing to climate change in ways that scientists had not anticipated.

This finding suggests that glaciers act as natural caps for methane-rich deposits, releasing substantial amounts of this potent greenhouse gas as they melt. The study emphasizes the need to incorporate glacial methane emissions into climate models, as their global impact could be more significant than previously understood.

This process is not just a gradual seepage—in some cases, it results in large, concentrated emissions that could enter the atmosphere much faster than expected.

Methane is a far more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide over short timescales, trapping about 80 times more heat in the atmosphere over 20 years.

Man made climate change is a HOAX....

It's just a cycle. Mankind has some influence on this (how can it not?)
The major driver? I think not.

If humans were ACTUALLY that concerned about it, we'd go after the big polluters on an equal basis.
Obviously we are not. Politics reigns supreme.

**** this unserious alarmism.
Please seat yourself.

100% correct. Climate is cyclic.
