What do you think would be the worst consequence for the U.S. if it left NATO?

Musk and Trump both are not big fans of NATO. However, it's good to weigh the pros/cons.

Pros of Leaving NATO
  1. Reduced Financial Burden – The U.S. contributes the largest share to NATO’s budget, and leaving would free up billions of dollars for domestic priorities.
  2. Avoiding Entanglements – NATO’s collective defense policy (Article 5) could drag the U.S. into conflicts that may not directly serve its interests.
Cons of Leaving NATO

                1. Increased Security Threats – Without NATO, the U.S. could face greater security risks, as adversaries like Russia and China may feel emboldened                       to challenge Western interests.
                2. Economic and Trade Consequences – NATO fosters economic stability and strong trade relationships. A U.S. exit could strain diplomatic ties and                         impact defense industry profits.

The US contributes 68% of NATO's defense. That is 860 billion dollars. That is a lot of money saved.
