Excellent video - I subscribed to the channel.

I particularly liked that he showed facility with Sun Tsu and that he applied the ideas of Sun Tsu in the modern context.

It takes a certain level of intelligence even to read that book at all. I would imagine that POSSIBLY 5 percent of Americans are competent to read The Art of War. Once that level is achieved, a person can read it - but applying it effectively will be directly related to intellect. The smarter you are, the more you will get from SunTsu. I would guess that MAYBE 3% are competent to apply it across domains.

I read recommended books all the time. Some are oddly disappointing. Some damn good.

Damn. The guy had me fooled. I thought his arguments were pretty strong - the whole, "China is feigning this will planning that" certainly fed into precisely what The General (Sun Tsu) advises. Misdirection is classic Sun Tsu. And then there is the argument that China's long play is to get back what it lost in the Century of Humiliation. That is a hard argument to buck against. Then there's the fact that the chinee are resource needy - and that getting back their lost ground would palliate if not cure that problem.
