D-I-L birthday. She loves hippie dippy tent city Austin. And I kinda do as well.
She heard chatter on social media about a new Egyptian/Texas fusion BBQ place
in the "Mueller" area of Austin about a mile east of the glorious University of Texas...called KG BBQ.
Word on the street was to expect an hour wait...standing in line.
Typical Texas BBQ with a middle east twist...
smoked lamb ribs and chops, mint chimichurri, brisket and pork ribs with pomegranate.
We made the trek. Had to park 7 blocks away amongst tents and homeless. Gods people.
Not a single big tit hottie in sight.
Waited only 35 minutes in line with the unwashed gentrified snobbish masses.
The food...? OMG. Smoked lamb ribs with mint chimichurri....THE HOLY GRAIL of GLORIOUSNESS!

Charleston SC is another must for foodies. That city is chockablock with outstanding eateries at very reasonable prices. Lots of good bbq, as well. Lamb and mint is a magical combo.
I almost ate lamb off a street cart in Bahrain but chickened out at the last minute.
From a distance it looked like a leg of lamb mounted on a vertical spindle under heat lamps inside an all glass enclosure.
It looked like it was covered in peppercorns, which are really good when they are roasted too.
Once I walked to within 20 or 30 feet of the street cart it became obvious that those weren't pepper corns...they were flies..........

Yeah those smoked lamb chops with the mint were extraordinary. Best meal I have eaten in a while.

Okay TxDot built a Toll Road around that almost went broke and hadda be bailed out by the state.
In reality most of the traffic passing thru 35 Austin is Big Trucks.
What they should have done is tolled I-35 thru the center of the city then all the big trucks went around instead of having CB Radio debates about the "Upper Or Lower Deck"

Eventually I got smarter timed it out so I ran that middle of night.
Sometimes shake it up a change of scenery go Us 59 thru Houston instead.
Now Houston that city knows how build freeways I mean 6/8/10 lanes each side and the biggest interchange ramps I ever seen anywhere.
