Hegseth orders same physical requirements for men, women in combat roles, says US ‘allowed standards to slip’

 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memo Monday ordering men and women to meet the same physical fitness requirements if they want to serve in combat roles, saying the Pentagon had “allowed standards to slip.”

 “Different standards for men and women in combat arms, MOS and jobs, that’s not acceptable,” Hegseth said in a video posted to X, using the abbreviation for “military occupational specialty,” or job type.

 “We have to have the same standard — male or female — in our combat roles to ensure our men and women who are under our leaders, or in those formations, have the best possible leaders and the highest possible standards that are not based at all on your sex.”

That has always been my opinion.

I agree......sort of.  In actual combat - sure.  But, in AI type drone-based combat?  It's going to be run by a bunch of fat, geeky gamers anyway.

Exactly the point I have been trying to make.  Mental ability is more important than grunt muscle in a lot of roles.  Warfare is as asymmetric as it has ever been.  A soldier can be a super model in a bikini giving out exploding thumb drives with a promise of a good porn video on it.  Stephen Hawkings could drive a 5000$ remote control exploding car under a multi million dollar tank half a planet away with his eyeballs.  If Jeff Bezos did it we would probably lose one of ours to friendly fire.(That's no eyeball... It's a moon)

As far as actual grunt military action, I have no problem that both genders will have to meet certain physical and emotional checkboxes. But warfare is a lot more today than just muscle and bullets. We need brains.  Trump don't like brains. Especially any that show better mental capacity than his. Elon bought himself a free pass on that directive.

That has always been my opinion. 
 

Why is it required to call a gender a sex? Gender comes as specific ancestors to a specified ancestral lineage of combined ancestry as marked by chromosomes in streaming DNA results never staying same form as their time of origin,(conception) not social narratives.

I have a problem how social results are interpreted to create divide between simultaneously alive ancestors equally inhabiting s[pace by their personal time of origin living eternally separated in plain sight arguing about what time is it where geographically located daily here.

Now is here regardless the 24 hour time zones among the 23 temperate zones north above and south below the equator dawn to dusk, winter solstice to fall equinox midnight to noon separating days of the week same rotation. of the planet 365 or 366 a year in the time of each ancestor inhabiting space so far.

Combat personal need to be killers not butt ****. There is a role for women and sissy boys, just not in combat. The military's number one mission by far is to kill the enemy. Use the military as a last resort only. And when you do, turn them loose to destroy the enemy.

That has always been my opinion.

If a female can carry 100 lbs of gear, physically endure what is required in the field of battle, strong enough to handle the recoils of the guns, and not nag all day at her fellow troops, then have at it. However, I genuinely doubt that any woman can handle that. 

Just give women a gun when on their period and turn them loose. God help the enemy.
