The Smoot Hawley Tariff Act prolonged the Great Depression. Anyone who voted for Smoot Hawley back then were voted out promptly in the next election.

Trump's Tariff's could trigger a global financial collapse, it certainly appears this may be happening to me.
Compound it with deporting the people willing to work and build and staff the factories we need and you have a recipe for the complete failure of the United States as an Economic Super Power.

As Elon brought his chainsaw for surgical removal of fraud and waste, Trumpocalypse has brought an economic fireball and mushroom cloud to our economy. Tariff's can be a positive thing if used correctly, but the broad base radiation therapy to everything all at once will kill the patient.

At this point there is no precedence set for what our nation is going through.
We are wounded and not getting better. Our BandAid fixes aren't doing much anyway.

Sure, some people aren't going to like it.

The point is that we need drastic intervention to our current path.
No "expert" knows any better than the next "expert" what the perfect plan is...

Some things over the years have yielded results:
A HUGE influx of illegals. That didn't seem to help much, did it?
U.S. pays tariffs in arenas that other countries do not match.
We send aid to places that laugh in our stupid sucker faces.
Etc.

Those results seem bad. To turn them off (or around) seems like a way to improve things.
It's been only a few months and people are **** themselves. Patience, snowflakes.

Example
Social Security fraud: It may seem like a small percentage... to our chat room champs. Why bother?
If that is shut down, the easy access to free stuff may help send a signal to millions to not even try anymore. Fraudsters and illegals alike.

They use the "prove the source" of something BEFORE allowing it to be brought in, hence, it stays out of Canada. They've been doing this **** for DECADES and now Trump calls them out on it and tells them to quit playing games or pay the price for the **** you want to send here.

I can understand why an "Under Dog" country like Canada feels they need to protect their  domestic producers.
I can also understand how and why the USA got careless about this stuff back when we out produced the rest of the World in so many ways.
