Sec Hegseth to visit Panama after Trump's demands for canal's returnDefense Secretary Pete Hegseth is slated to meet with Panama leaders next week amid President Donald Trump's continued efforts to regain control of the key strategic and military resource. The Trump administration has been outspoken about national security threats presented by alleged Chinese interference.

During a February visit to the country, Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote in an X post that "the United States cannot, and will not, allow the Chinese Communist Party to continue with its effective and growing control over the Panama Canal area."

In the original deal almost afew centuries ago now did we not build the Panama Canal originally.

Then what 40/50 years ago our stupid policticians decided give it back to Panama Government for whatever reason and since then became friendly with Chinas "Check-Book" diplomacy.

Look up the "New Silk Road" one of Chinas biggest international investments tune of Trillions of Dollars too.

China moves in takes control thru debt then establishes military outposts in 3rd world countries across the globe

Within a year we will own the canal and Greenland and Canada will become part of the USA.

I dont know about Canada they are a Proud People a "Nation State" vast territory too but only about population of Big State like California or Texas.

I think on Greenland which its entire population roughly size a smaller city we could maybe make the offer but we would have to extend the "Social Safety Net"  really get them to Agree 2 a Deal.

Denmark too is NATO an "Ally" we already have numerous Military Posts & Bases in Greenland dating back many decades to the "Cold War" with Russia/Soviet Union

I think maybe the "Denmark" agrees a back room deal on the side with USA and keep up the Facade as is.

Denmark aint even a really big country but possess vast territory.

Greenland itself more in "Our Backyard" closer to USA than Denmark
