Qatar’s GDP is ~$200 billion
This “deal” is 6x the size of their entire economy
DETAILS, my man. You are falling prey to the dreaded principle of momentum and minutia.
The Qatar royal family is worth 335 billion, give or take. The QIA - Qatar's sovereign wealth fund - is worth 550 billion. That seems to be the extent of what could conceivably be drawn from to honor a 1.2 trillion dollar pledge.
How dare I question Orange Supreme’s numbers!Cannonpointer » Yesterday, 8:57 pm » wrote: ↑ DETAILS, my man. You are falling prey to the dreaded principle of momentum and minutia.
As a person who has PERSONALLY pledged several hundred billions in economic activity, I trust the Qataris a **** of a lot farther than I trust me. But that doesn't take my pledge off the balance sheet.
Maybe the Qataris see significant growth on the horizon. Maybe they have the guts to dream. Maybe your cynicism is just a damned wet blanket, sir!
The question you - and everyone in reading distance of your cynical post - should be asking is this: Just what made that little old ant think he'd move a rubber tree plant?
I’m just glad that tRump decided to recognize Palestinians right to a two state solutionFuelman » 9 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Sounds like a better deal than we had before Trump's visit!
President Donald Trump announced several agreements with Qatar valued at over $243.5 billion, alongside a broader economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion.
Signed during a visit to Qatar, the deals include sectors from aviation and energy to defence and quantum technology. Highlighting a landmark Boeing-GE Aerospace sale to Qatar Airways--Boeing's largest-ever widebody order--the agreements are expected to support over 1 million US jobs and deepen strategic cooperation between Washington and Doha.
The anti-america types don't like this news.
