Tim Walz: Trump’s ICE Is a ‘Modern-Day Gestapo’

The former running mate of the failed 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, is lashing out at the Trump administration’s mass deportation operation. “Democrat Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota called President Donald Trump a ‘tyrant’ at a law school graduation speech Saturday and said the rule of law in the US is ‘crumbling,’” RealClear Politics reports.

 ‘Scooping Folks Up Off the Streets’: “‘Lawyers are our first and last line of defense,’ Walz said at the University of Minnesota’s law school commencement ceremony,” the news site details. “‘I have to be honest with you: You are graduating into a genuine emergency.’” He went on to explain. “Every single day, the president of the United States finds new ways to trample rights and undermine the rule of law,” Walz exclaimed. “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets. They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons. … It’s not hyperbole to say we’re not far from a world where anyone could get that knock at the door, and there’s no guarantee you’d get your day in court or that you’d ever make it home alive from whatever corner of the world they stick you in.”
