Do you believe these Medicaid cuts are justified in order to fund tax cuts and reduce federal spending?

I believe the cuts to Medicare and caid are justified for their own sakes, regardless of other considerations.   What is proposed is identifying and cutting waste and fraud.   This should always be done no matter the fiscal climate.

I don't think it is correct no matter how inflammable it may sound to suggest the cuts are going to fund some other thing.  That is the kind of statement that an enemy of Trump would express in oder to stoke the flames of divisiveness.

Much better to be non-aligned and speak objectively.

If you do, and it CAN be targeted, do you believe that we should?

If you can tell me what is being cut, I'll be happy to vote in your poll. Right now, I don't understand it.
I listen to Patriot Radio podcasts whose frequent guests are from the hill...

they've stated the bill goes after fraud, waste and the undocumented, aka, illegals who are receiving benefits...

Today, MN is in special session as one of the last items on their biennial budget bill is this very same thing, the contentious part of "medical treatment" for the undocumented, aka, illegals...

Reduced Federal Funding:
Matching Rate Reduction: The federal government may reduce the matching rate for Medicaid expansion from 90% to 80% for states that provide coverage to undocumented residents, potentially costing those states millions of dollars in funding.
Per Capita Caps and Block Grants: Proposed cuts may involve per capita caps on federal spending and shifting to block grants, reducing the amount of federal funding states receive for Medicaid.

Examples of Specific Policies Proposed in the House Bill:
Cuts to Medicaid expansion:
The House bill proposed reducing the federal match rate for states providing coverage to undocumented residents.
Elimination of the COVID-19 5% boost:
The bill would eliminate the 5% increase in federal matching rates provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Provider Tax Freeze:
The legislation would freeze the "provider tax" that some states use to help fund their Medicaid programs.
COVID?

New analysis estimates $1.1T in Medicaid improper payments

Researchers from the Paragon Health Institute reached the $1.1 trillion value by including eligibility checks in their analysis, which they say CMS has "largely ignored" despite being "the biggest source of errors."

Under the Obama and Biden administrations, CMS did not include reviews of state eligibility determinations in their Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) audits, which have measured improper payments in Medicaid and CHIP since 2008. Improper payments are reimbursements from the government that do not meet statutory, regulatory or administrative requirements of the programs.

Let the republicans gut Medicaid

Then people on both sides will see that neither party gives a damn about them

I'm not sure I believe that Medicaid expansion reduces costs for everyone.
Medicare doesn't cover the cost of services and Medicaid covers even less.
Medicaid reimbursement rates are set by each state and can be a percentage of Medicare rates, market assessments, or relative value scales. In general, Medicaid rates are lower, often around 78% of Medicare rates.

The amount of people on Medicaid is staggering.
January 2025, a total of 78.4 million people were enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP, the Children's Health Insurance Program, in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. This included 71.2 million people in Medicaid and 7.3 million in CHIP. About one in five Americans relies on Medicaid for their health care.

Everyone else magically pays less. ****!

Why Medicaid Cuts Affect Everyone — Even If You’re Not on It

The “Big Beautiful Bill” proposes cutting Medicaid by over $700 billion. Even if you don’t use Medicaid, the effects will reach you. Here's how:
  • ER Overload – Uninsured patients flood emergency rooms. Hospitals eat the cost, then raise your bills and insurance premiums. So the next time you whine about having to pay for the poor people, then know that you supported this part of the bill. So shut your cry-hole.
  • Higher Premiums – More untreated illness = more expensive care = higher costs passed on to private insurers (and you). Did you really think this specific cut wouldn't cancel out by means of your pocketbook?
  • School Cuts – Medicaid funds nurses, therapists, and counselors in public schools. Cuts mean fewer services or higher local taxes. You would be surprised at how many middle class professions are funded by Medicaid.
  •  Nursing Home Strain – Over 60% of long-term elder care is paid by Medicaid. Cuts could force families to cover massive costs themselves. Unless you are Asian or Mexican. They take care of their own. It's the white and blacks that abandoned families.
  •  Job Losses – Medicaid supports millions of healthcare jobs. Cuts can lead to layoffs, especially in rural and working-class areas. I know a lady with a Phd in Occupational therapy. Most of her contracts are Medicaid. She will be out of a job.
Bottom Line:
When the safety net shrinks, everyone feels it—through higher costs, weaker systems, and more pressure on families.

Eradicate Medicaid.  Why should I have to pay tons of money for health insurance when drug-addicted and lazy **** get it for free?

Inside the mind of criminals: How to brazenly steal $100 billion from Medicare and Medicaid

The CUTS alone don't cover the FRAUDULANT CLAIMS being made. Nice try, but people that QUALIFY FOR IT will still get it. PERIOD!!

Those that don't get CUT OFF and should!! Please, take your bleeding heard LIBRETARD **** and whine someplace besides here!!

PERIOD!!
