"This should make Trump and his Maga cult happy." David Hogg said laughing.

Rhode Island lawmakers pass bill to ban sales of assault weapons
(Full article at above link)

Rhode Island’s Democratic-controlled state House on Friday approved legislation that would ban the sale and manufacture of many semiautomatic rifles commonly referred to as assault weapons. The proposal now heads to the desk of Democratic Gov. Daniel McKee, who has said he supports assault weapons bans. If the bill is signed into law, Rhode Island will join 10 other states that have some sort of prohibition on high-powered firearms that were once banned nationwide and are now largely the weapon of choice among those responsible for most of the country’s mass shootings.Gun control advocates have been pushing for an assault weapons ban in Rhode Island for more than a decade. But despite being a Democratic stronghold, lawmakers throughout the country’s smallest state have long argued over the necessity and legality of such proposals.

1.  They are not high powered firearms.  They fire intermediate powered cartridges.

2.  Even your article calls the bill weak.

3.  With the exception of the magazines the bill is basically external pieces.  You still can get an semi auto that is just as "powerful".

https://webserver.rilegislature.gov/Bil ... H5436A.pdf

4.  The bill grandfathers any weapon you have in possession before July 2026.

5.  RI will be the next state to have ban compliant weapons.

PS.
It wasn’t just Republicans who opposed the legislation. David Hogg — a gun control advocate who survived the 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Fla. — and the Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence described the proposed ban as the “weakest assault weapons ban in the country.”

2 points I'll make.

1.) I couldn't care less what happens in Rhode Island.

2.) That kid has the most punchable face I've ever seen.

The 5.56×45mm NATO(official NATO nomenclature 5.56 NATO, commonly pronounced "five-five-six") is a rimless bottlenecked centerfireintermediate cartridge family developed in the late 1970s in Belgium by FN Herstal.[5] It consists of the SS109, L110, and SS111 cartridges.

no, you didn’t.  I learned that decades ago.  I have forgotten more about it than you will ever know.  5.56 is an intermediate powered cartridge.

Post something that says otherwise.  I post objective and you the. Stamp your feet, throw a tantrum and whine it is wrong

Tiny,

You had no idea what SCHV was, until I told you.

The issue isn't what the round does when fired at military grade body armor.....it's what happens when it strikes someone wearing cotton.

LMAO!

And that's why the Military is going with a larger, more powerful rifle.  You would know he issues with 556 if you ever read the info I provided you,  But, you the best example of stupid is as stupid does that I know.

PS.  I have posted this before.  You obviously did not read it. It was written in 2002 by a retired marine corp major.  Argue with him.
