Does the fact that the charge is intermediate make the weapon firing it more suitable for civilian use?

I don't see a case from you yet proving the 5.56 NATO round is not an intermediate charged cartridge.  There are far more powerful rifles out there for civilians.  Hell, as I said and shown, there are some states and localities that ban the use of 5.56/223 for deer hunting because the round is not relatively not that powerful and may deliver a clean kill.

Weapon v. Cartridge

Do you dispute that the NATO 5.56 round was developed for combat?

45 ACP was developed for combat.  So what?
45 Long was developed for combat.  So what?
7.62 was developed for combat.  So what?
.308 was developed for combat.  So what?

ANd tell us why big game hunters do not use a small, intermediate round like .223/5.56 NATO.

The 5.56 was probably one of the less effective rounds developed for combat.  Far less effective than 30-06 or .308. Lighter and easier to carry in a jungle.

That's a question.

You don't answer them.

You've made no case.

Mine is that the AR-15 is a high powered weapon, as demonstrated by its ability to kill at 1000 yds, with readily available ammo.

I do answer them and I answered that one,

As stated multiple times with citations and sources the NATO 5.56x45223 is the standard ammunition for the M16 and many. Semi Auto rifles.  In addition you have MULTIPLE firearms posted that are not high powered post to this thread that can kill at a 1000 yards.

YOU have provided no linked sources that back up your false assertion.

yup, as was the ammo listed on this thread for other firearms that can kill at a thousand yards.  Are they also fully charged cartridges?
