In the 1990s I was still some what interested in dope and I heard all about a semi legal shop on main street in Vancouver BC.
The shop was everything that the article in High Times magazine said it would be....but IIRC there was any pot visibly for sale or just paraphernalia in the show cases..
In the very back of the store were a couple of Fried Potatoes smoking bowls and playing a board game.
I think I placed an order for some Mantanuska ****, Northern Lights, Jack Herer and Trippin' Green seeds to be mailed to my address....but I'm not 100% sure if I did..

2+ decades ago I went to White Rock, BC to buy a kayak. When I checked out of the motel I asked the old boy at the counter what all these charges were on my bill. He just looked at me and said, "We are taxed to death in Canada".

Funny how becoming a full fledged, property tax paying adult can give many of us a rude enough awakening to start using our own eyes and ears to form our beliefs instead of relying on Rachel Maddow, Anderson Cooper and Al Sharpton to tell us what to believe is true.

I generally don't. Haven't since I was 17. But toking legally on the streets of BC was like whoring in Amsterdam or snorkeling in Cancun - a tip o the hat to a social agreement.
