I can safely assume that a dimocrat came up with the idea of a $1500 bulb.

At some point the stupid **** gets out of control.

The sealed beam headlights are harder to style around when designing the next car.
The first polycarbonate lights were sold as "aerodynamic" to further assist is MPG.
That's long-since become unnecessary to sell the product.

Now they say the lights will never burn out. Right... 50,000 hours...
By the time you "need a new light bulb" they will have been out of production for years.
But if your $1500 light (which is RH and LH only) gets damaged as on an older car and you're ****.

The way those lights are tuned isn't simple.
LED placement, the parabolas, the lenses are not random. You can't just plug in any old thing and fix them.

Thanks for showing me that....RIDICULOUSNESS...! $1500 for a headlamp change..!  :o

The old 1970s era halogen lamps do the job just fine.
