Your argument is retarded. Yes we pay for the infrastructure and everyone gets to use it. The taxes paid by those taking out student loans also pay for the infrastructure. Besides, how much in taxes have 18-22 year old paid? Surely not enough to finance their loans.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 11:32 am » wrote: ↑ The ones against student loan forgiveness have the following brilliant impenetrable argument: 'They took out a loan, thus they are obligated to pay it back. One problem. That argument only stands if the money loaned came from private sources, such as banks. Student loans come from the taxes that they already paid before they took the loan out. Therefore, they are receiving money that was already theirs to begin with.
Our taxes go to infrastructure: We don't have to pay every time we drive on the roads, call the police, call the fire department, or visit a library. Why? Because we already paid for it. However, I never hear 'you are using the infrastructure, thus you need to pay every time you use it.' WE ALREADY ARE PAYING!

I would argue that the young ones who take student loans out after HS have not really paid tht much in taxes.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 11:32 am » wrote: ↑ The ones against student loan forgiveness have the following brilliant impenetrable argument: 'They took out a loan, thus they are obligated to pay it back. I never took out a student loan, do I get my taxes back too? Like I said your argument is retarded. No one forced you to attend a private college.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 12:16 pm » wrote: ↑ Lame. How much does the infrastructure cost? A **** more than student loans.

If you'd like our taxes to go to public colleges that I could get behind, I can't get behind our taxes subsidizing private for profit schools, like we do now.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 12:25 pm » wrote: ↑ Another lame argument. Your wife needs to put out more for you. You aren't thinking straight. The point I am making is that there should n't be student loans altogether. No different than the infrastructure. We are not taking out loans to use any of it. We just pay for it. We shouldn't have to pay for college. Our taxes should just go to it. Nobody is forcing you or anyone else to use libraries or national parks. You could homeschool your kids instead of using public school. Nobody is forcing us to choose one or the other of those either.
I am sending your wife back to you.

Good Lord, decades of ripoffs of banks giving high interest rates and schools giving out useless crap degrees.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 11:32 am » wrote: ↑ The ones against student loan forgiveness have the following brilliant impenetrable argument: 'They took out a loan, thus they are obligated to pay it back. I am not sure how good higher education will be with out a National Strategy. But I have to agree what we have been doing didn't work.. Look at Karoline Leave It..
AI can teach people a whole lot of shyt cheap fast. But he'll make it against the law to teach humans.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 12:35 pm » wrote: ↑ 100% agree. If someone wants to go to a private for profit college , then they should pay privately.

Honestly.. AI teachers are incredibly good at what they do. And all my degree does is get me the job that people without can't. Most of them could do what I do without the 5 years of binge drinking.
They still signed paper work to pay it back.Vegas » 04 Jul 2025, 12:22 pm » wrote: ↑ I don't believe that matters. They haven't contributed much to the infrastructure either. Therefore, by that logic, they should pay to use it on top of what they are already paying. If we consider ratios of amount by age, then we will run into many slippery slopes that will be impossible to come back from.
