Kenya: at least 10 dead in ongoing protests, 29 injured nationwide

Police in Kenya clashed with demonstrators Monday during anti-government protests as the authorities blocked major roads leading into the capital, Nairobi, and most businesses closed.

According to government-funded national rights watchdog Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, at least 10 people died on Monday, and another 29 were reported injured nationwide. Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen said on Sunday that the government would not tolerate violent protests and that police would be deployed to ensure public safety.

The roads leading to the country’s parliament and the president’s office were barricaded using razor wire.

Yet, blue states tolerate violence as long as it is anti-Trump.  **** public safety I guess.

The government is dispatching police to ensure "public safety"?  Image   Image   Image

The protestors aren't challenging "the public." The protestors are challenging "the government."

I can assure you their troops are there to ensure GOVERNMENT safety. And I certainly agree with your implied thesis that the government of Kenya is laudably honest and the protestors deserve to die for being against dumockrucy. I also agree with you that Americans should be subject toextreme government force any time they protest. The right to petition government for redress of grievance is as overhyped as freedom of the press or the right to be secure inour persons, houses, papers and effects. If you're not doing anything wrong, why would you care if the cops want to randomly search you?

If "the public" would stop beating **** out each other, it would be clear who the "enemy" is.
The government probably loves looters for just that reason. It erodes the validity of "grievances".

That's here. The OP seems to be celebrating the government of Kenya.

Sometimes I wish I knew more about other countries' government.
