The point is Bill Maher is one of the left's own. Dems are slowly losing key demographics, and it doesn't look like they'll be changing their stripes any time soon.

Bill hasn't changed. He is still an old school liberal. He is not a modern day far left progressive. It seems the start of the split began when he went to install solar panels and all the red tape he had to go thru. The permits and fees and inspections.
BV is in question time out indefinitely, until he takes the pledge to answer questions one for one.

Hmmm... I think he has been VERY outspoken as to why he's no longer a Liberal... and in a few words, the REASON is:
He "didn't leave the Democrat Party... IT left HIM" ! and, "IF a Party can no longer believably STAND behind the Constitutional RIGHTS of American citizens... MAYBE it has no business standing AT ALL" !
Bill Maher has repeatedly called out the LIES, the TWO Faced BACKSTABBING of America, Americans, and the Constitution, and UTTER DISHONESTY, and SELF SERVING STUPIDITY of TODAYS Democrat Party... and I think he's ABSOLUTELY RIGHT....
AND he has joined the ranks of one time Democrats like Tulsi Gabbard, Ronald Reagan, AND Donald Trump... who REALIZED that the Democrat Party had LEFT THEM, and that they could no longer, in good conscious, continue the charade !!
