Image  quitting is easy … I do it all the time

they we’re around 30 cents a pack when I started

I remember saying “if they get up to 50 cents I QUIT “  Image

when obomba was in office

he put an extra $25 per pound tax on tobacco

but not for cigars or pipe tobacco (wonder why)

the makers of tobacco put out “roll your own” tobacco, labeled as “pipe tobacco” to avoid the tax

In 2025, I still spend around $1 per pack to roll my own

true story

I remember those days.  I also remember in 83 on post cigs were less than a dollar.

In 2019 I was in NYC with my boys and my son had to buy a pack of cigarettes.  Because of the tax in NYC the pack cost 14 bucks.  I had quit a few years earlier but I said give me one.  He asked why.  I said because I want to see what a cigarette from a 14 dollar pack taste like.

Try the ZYN pouches.
They have helped me, in 4 weeks I've smoked maybe 2 cigs. And haven't killed anyone yet. After 42 years I thought it would be harder. Stupid me, I could have saved a lot of money. I will say it was probably easier in retirement, those external work pressures are gone.

A pack of smokes used to be slightly less than a gallon of gas. That was a decades-long trend.
Then the gubmint said both were bad for us...

It's all fake pricing now. Has been for a long time.
Please seat yourself.
