Short answer: Fear of going to hell.
I was raised Catholic. The bible was taking at face value without any historical research taken into the context of the times. When the bible said Jews are God's chosen people, then that meant if you speak against Jews, then you are speaking against God. Well...no Christian wants to speak against God. To many Christian religions,they take that very seriously. Not because they researched its history, but because they are afraid of going to hell. Period.

The Hebrews defied God’s will in the Old Testament, which resulted in their destruction around 70 AD. (God was quite lenient and gave them 4 centuries to change their old ways, and they refused)
It is also questionable if the modern Jews could trace their lineage to the ancient Israelites, since they are very finicky when you bring up DNA examinations.
Whatever claims they have of being “chosen” is nullified by the arrival and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ. That’s the entire purpose of the New Testament - to offer all human beings a chance at salvation.
As a Christian this is the fundamental basis of your belief, no? Judaism denies this and adheres to old orthodoxy while claiming Jesus is a false and heretical prophet.
The “chosen” label directly contradicts Christian theology, but Boomers are too retarded to make this logical leap.
