The same place where it says that people from mars will NOT pay the Trump tariffs.

It's right there, in the same paragraph. Are you too stupid to see it?

Tariffs are paid by the importer - not the shipper.

Importers pay the tariffs. That is how tariffs are paid. Google it, stooge.I do not have to prove the negative.

What you need to prove is the reason you're so dense and can't believe that there are companies who will be absorbing the Trump tariff instead of raising their prices.  And more will continue to do so as they find their sales have dropped considerably because they tried to pass along those price increases.

Unlike you, they understand how competition affects such decisions:
8 Companies That Plan to Absorb Tariff Costs Instead of Hiking Prices
Not every retailer will eat the costs of tariffs — but these will. At least for now.

Money Talks News by Gillian Manning • April 4, 2025
Many companies are likely to pass the additional cost of the tariffs on to consumers. But other companies are finding workarounds. The following companies are finding ways to avoid charging customers more due to tariffs.

Chipotle
In March, Chipotle CEO Scott Boatwright told CNBC, “It is our intent as we sit here today to absorb those costs.”
“We are fortunate to have such an extraordinary economic model at Chipotle that we can withstand those types of inflationary pressures and not have to pass those costs off to the consumer,”

FORD
Ford isn’t just absorbing tariff expenses — it’s discounting its vehicles. The company is offering employee-only prices to its entire customer base.

Walmart
Bloomberg spoke to anonymous sources with connections to Walmart who said the retailer is asking its Chinese suppliers to cut prices by as much as 10% for each round of tariffs. This essentially asks suppliers to shoulder the additional costs of tariffs instead of consumers.

Suerte Tequila
In an April 2 report from CNBC, Suerte Tequila CEO Laurence Spiewak says, “Absorbing the cost of the tariff goes right along with our philosophy and the way that we were setting up and designing and growing our business.”Suerte is one of a few registered tequila brands that owns its agave fields and has long-term partnerships with growers. It also has majority ownership of its factory in Mexico. Spiewak says these reasons have allowed the company to keep overhead prices low enough to absorb extra expenses.

Abacus Brands
Toy company Abacus Brands designs science kits and other educational toys. Most of its products are produced in China. Company president Steve Rad told the Associated Press (AP) in April that they’ll use thinner paper in an 80-page project book that comes with two of its kits. These changes should avert a would-be $10 retail price increase.
So much for your idiotic theories, you moron!

All 8 of those companies are American companies. Even if they ARE eating the tariffs (and they're not, you **** dummy), that is still Americans eating the tariffs, you google-chasing jackwagon.

They are CLAIMING that they will absorb the tariffs - meaning lost revenues. Of course, you are stupid enough to believe they can do this indefinitely - just work for no profit. And their share holders are going to be totally okay with that.

You cannot tell the difference between marketing fluff and reality. But even if we pretend along that we are as gullible as you are, that is still AMERICANS eating the tariffs, you thick mutt.

You are one stupid ****, son.
Who says they're making no profits, birdbrain?  And you have no idea WHAT steps they're taking internally to make up that amount the tariffs are costing them because you have a simplistic, one-dimensional mentality.  I'm quite certain they're making up the difference by finding cheaper suppliers, or cutting back their staff or reducing the number of items on their menu, closing stores that aren't as profitable, or targeting their advertising with loss leaders to bring in more customers.  Their options are virtually limitless, and NOT simply limited to the few menu items that may have been affected by the tariff!
What did McDonald's do when there was resistance to the $15 Big Mac meal that got bad publicity for that cost?  They implemented kiosks in most of their stores and eliminated 20% of the work force.  How did California handle the minimum wage increase to $20 and hour?  THEY FIRED THOUSANDS OF WORKERS AND SHUT MANY LOCATIONS!
How long do you think it will take before you start seeing TV commercials with companies advertising the fact that they've ABSORBED the tariff for the American consumer, especially with Christmas sales they're just now planning to advertise?

You have a zero-sum game mentality, and a weak one at that!
You see one, singular action and reaction for every business when there are actually a myriad of ways for a country or a business to make up for the tariff they want to absorb.  I've done it successfully in my businesses MANY times, and NEVER had a problem remaining competitive in the market.  Just because YOU'RE too dumb to understand how it's done doesn't mean that any other business owner is as stupid as you!

Of course, you are stupid enough to believe they can do this indefinitely - just work for no profit.

And I'll be happy to tell you how I reacted when Obama raised my corporate taxes and tried to force me to upgrade my employee health insurance that I gave to my employees.  I CANCELLED THE POLICY and told my workers that Obama wanted to force me to buy a policy that required abortion coverage, and I refused because I had NO FEMALE EMPLOYEES under the age of 60!  But I knew from the day he was elected that his stupidity would cause a HUGE recession, so I started taking action immediately the day after he was elected in November.  I cancelled an order for new machinery that I had just placed a few weeks before, eliminated all overtime to my employees, and killed a new product line that was in the works and due to be released in the Spring of '09.  I reduced our inventory, and laid off one of my shipping clerks and gave a new supplier who had been courting my business for months an opportunity with a 10 ton order which undercut my previous supplier with a better price in Louisiana than I was paying from my supplier in Massachusetts.  Then I tightened up terms on my receivables with existing customers when I suspected that a couple were becoming short of capital and struggling to pay their bills.  And as a result of such an austerity program, I survived Obama's "great recession" when millions of other businesses (and a couple of my competitors) went out of business.

Disprove the negative of reasonable doubt while evolving is a self evident process in plain sight humans sacrifice biological time to rule space through theoretical time logistics.

this whole species is involved since dawn of civilization began typecasting ancestors cradle to grave into stereotypical social behaviors every generation gap lived in recorded history reporting how people behaved cradle to grave in every society here now.

"Stolen Valor"???  Apparently, you have no clue what that term means.
I've never given any indication that I've been in the military, and certainly not claimed to have won any medals or awards as a military vet.
I have, however, won awards for my exemplary achievements in business, which I doubt you would ever believe.

So I guess we'll just chalk up yet another topic you're clearly ignorant about and add "stolen valor" to the growing list.

And you have no idea what the profit margins of a business might be after a country has chosen to absorb the tariff Trump imposed.  If other countries respond by devaluing their currency the way China did, there could be no discernable difference in their profit margins.  If other international companies react to the Trump tariffs by transferring production to their US facilities, they could very possibly see an increase in sales that would offset any effect of the tariff.  Still other can benefit greatly in sales volume like Colombia and Peru, who could quite possibly pick up a huge percentage of the sales of coffee or avocados previously sold to the US by Brazil or Mexico because the Trump tariff hit them with higher tariffs that have made them uncompetitive in their respective markets.

What you don't know or can't comprehend about economics and business can fill volumes!

Countries don't do that. You will not show ONE example of any country doing that.

Foreign companies on OCCASION might take some of the hit to maintain their market share until a storm blows over - IF they believe their government will negotiate a better trade agreement. But in the normal course of business, it is consumers - not compaines, and NEVER countries - which pay tariffs. Importers pass both the cost of tariffs. plus profits, to wholesalers, who pass the cost of THEIR profits to retailers, who add THEIR markup when they sell to consumers. The net cost of tariffs to consumers is very close to double the rate of the tariff - depending on the number of middlemen and the margin those middle men can demand. A 50% tariff will likely double the cost of a product, unless downward drivers are at play.

In the case of Brazilian coffee beans, the downward driver is that 64% of the market is taxed at only 10%, which will make Brazilian beans uncompetetive. But Brazilian farmers will not be paid any less - the AMERICAN middle men will take whatever hit there is. The tax is on AMERICANS. You can argue about WHICH Americans - but the tax is on us.

I once helped bring a line of coffee kiosks to market, and I know that outside of the miniscule "Fairly Traded" niche, coffee growers basically work for food, with large families contributing to the enterprise at zero compensation beyond their living expenses. Farm gate prices for coffee are somewhere between 10 and 20 percent of the retail price. With upscale brands like Starbucks, it's closer to ten. On value brands like Kirkland, it's closer to 20.

Stupid **** like this is how I know for sure that you are a poseur and have never run a business, fruitcake.

Well no duh. But you're not gonna see the US produce ONE HUNDRED TIMES as much coffee, or TEN TIMES as many avocados, which is what it would take. We import 99% of the coffee we consume, and 90% of the avocados

The very earliest a new coffee plantation can sell a bean is three years from breaking dirt - IF everything goes perfectly. 3 to 5 years is the norm.

You'd think you'd be grateful for the education you obviously never got in grammar school!
But OK, if you don't mind being proven to be a horse's *** every day, who am I to get in your way?
So here's today's lesson, dimwit:

First, the definition of "Stolen Valor".  You'll note it refers ONLY to a person's military service, and NOT whether an employer has put men to work:
Stolen Valor Act of 2013 - Amends the federal criminal code to rewrite provisions relating to fraudulent claims about military service to subject to a fine, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both an individual who, with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit, fraudulently holds himself or herself out to be a recipient of:
  • a Congressional Medal of Honor,
  • a distinguished-service cross,
  • a Navy cross,
  • an Air Force cross,
  • a silver star,
  • a Purple Heart,
  • a Combat Infantryman's Badge,
  • a Combat Action Badge,
  • a Combat Medical Badge,
  • a Combat Action Ribbon,
  • a Combat Action Medal, or
  • any replacement or duplicate medal for such medal as authorized by law.
Stolen valor revolves around falsely claiming military service, achievements, or decorations that aren’t rightfully earned. This phenomenon encompasses a wide range of deceptive behaviors, from fabricating military experiences to wearing medals and honors without the legitimate right to do so.
Got it now, knucklehead?

  • China announced that it used the yuan devaluation card to counter the US's additional tariff imposition.
  • Experts evaluated China's yuan devaluation as an essential measure to offset the damage from the tariff war.
  • Wall Street predicts that the yuan value may fall further, potentially rising to 7.5 yuan per dollar in the future.
And finally, do you REALLY want to revisit this idiotic claim of yours that I've proven in the past?:
Stupid **** like this is how I know for sure that you are a poseur and have never run a business, fruitcake.
Has your dementia gotten so bad that you forgot how I accepted your challenge to prove I've owned numerous businesses in my career, and done so to your satisfaction at the time?  Do you REALLY need your dumb nose rubbed in it again?

You'd think you'd be grateful for the education you obviously never got in grammar school!
But OK, if you don't mind being proven to be a horse's *** every day, who am I to get in your way?
So here's today's lesson, dimwit:

First, the definition of "Stolen Valor".  You'll note it refers ONLY to a person's military service, and NOT whether an employer has put men to work:
I get it. You cannot track an idea across domains.

That makes sense. You are, after all, an idiot.

Here's your ignorant statement:
Countries don't do that. You will not show ONE example of any country doing that.
And here's the reality that you're obviously too dumb to check out before making such an idiotic statement!
But it seems I can ALWAYS count on you for that, doesn't it, moron?  Note the date, asshole!:
Lol - currency manipulation is suddenly hurting CHYNA.Image You *** were SCREECHING about it all during the campaign - and now you are gloating about it and pretending it's a win! Image Image Image

I remember never believing you then, either. But even if I had, you have worked double time to convince me you are an illiterate, incompetent buffoon.

Oh, so now you want to try to distract from your idiotic statement demanding that I show you how other countries can devalue their currency to absorb the Trump tariff?
Weren't THESE your words, asshole?:
Countries don't do that. You will not show ONE example of any country doing that.
So I PROVE to you that not only CAN a country do so, but HAS done it as China did just within the last few months IN RESPONSE TO TRUMP'S TARIFFS!
That's the kind of ignorant, lying scumbag you are when you find how easy it is to prove you're own lack of intelligence!
NOBODY HERE believes the point was whether or not it was a good thing for China to devalue their currency!  The fact is YOU WERE TOO STUPID TO CHECK IT OUT BEFORE UTTERING YOUR OWN FALSE BELIEFS, pretending instead to be such a cerebral scholar!

And a valor thief.
Hey, is that actually CP the Idiot admitting he had no idea what "stolen valor" was when he accused me of it?

And now do you REALLY want me to go and find another trustworthy member here to supply them with all the incontrovertible evidence of the businesses I've owned and run for over 50 years?  ISN'T THAT PAST PROOF ENOUGH TO ESTABLISH THE FACT THAT YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN TO SHUT THE **** UP?

Are you REALLY that eager to receive yet ANOTHER major beatdown like I gave you last time?  Just say the word, dickhead, because there are few thing I enjoy as much as exposing you for the lying, ignorant blowhard that you are!

Oh, so you want my response here too?  YOU added the topic to PG, nitwit, not me!
Are you REALLY that much of a glutton for punishment?

I said those words to THIS, garrulous ***:
Zeets2 » 20 Aug 2025, 10:28 am » wrote: And you have no idea what the profit margins of a business might be after a country has chosen to absorb the tarif...
This^ was AFTER you insisted that other countries would pay the tariffs, because you don't understand what a tariff is. You change the word "pay" to "absorb," and pretend China is "absorbing" the tariffs. THE IMPORTERS PAY THE TARIFFS. THE TARIFFS ARE PAID, NOT "ABSORBED." Paid in dollars by Americans AFTER the goods clear customs. WHICH Americans pay it is irrelevant. THAT Americans pay it is what you cannot weasel out of.

You are on record whining about Currency manipulation,  and overnight you're pretending the USA is the one winning when Chyna manipulates its currency. YAY! Chyna is "absorbing" the tariffs!  American importers are off the hook! Yay! Consumers are off the hook! Yay!

Currency manipulation has ****-all to do with tariffs. Google it, FFS. Image

Currency manipulation - which you have insisted CHEATS the USA - is not Chyna "paying" OR "absorbing" the tariffs. AMERICAN IMPORTERS pay the tariffs - so just stop the silly reframing and lying.

You screech against currency manipulation for months, and then gloat that Chyna's manipulations are a win for America, saving us from tariffs - you weak sissy. You have repeatedly insisted that American businesses were going to "absorb" the tariffs, paying them but not recouping through markups - like arguing over WHICH Americans were getting over-taxed was some kind of refutation. And now you swtich it that Chyna is "absorbing" them by manipulating its currency.I GUESS ALL THOSE AMERICAN COMPANIES YOU SAID WERE ABSORBING THE TARIFFS ARE OFF THE HOOK SCOTT FREE - you retarded ape.

I told you that neither Chyna nor ANY OTHER COUNTRY would pay the tariffs - and I said you would never show such a thing happening.

You haven't, you wee, loud Capuchin.

Give it a break, valor thief. Image Image

No way anyone as stupid and excitable as you ever created a job or ran a business.
